I am happy to say, however, that I have not seen any burkhas in Lazio.Seraphichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06251504033428511090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6905236167079601771.post-6974970961501648662011-08-13T13:23:37.553+01:002011-08-13T13:23:37.553+01:00Apparently (i.e. I read it in a newspaper, so it&#...Apparently (i.e. I read it in a newspaper, so it's probably a warping-beyond-recognition of some actual report that came to no exciting conclusions) there's a problem now with children not getting enough vitamin D because their parents are so paranoid about them getting skin cancer.

I made sure the nevvers spent a lot of time in the scud this summer :)berenikehttp://exlaodicea.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6905236167079601771.post-11549031726863941112011-08-13T07:49:32.586+01:002011-08-13T07:49:32.586+01:00May I just chime in with a slight warning that tho...May I just chime in with a slight warning that those of us with such fair skin living in warm countries - we either have two choices; skin cancer or vitamin d deficiency!

Therefore I beseech (I've always wanted to use that word in a sentence of my own, and not just after the Hail Holy Queen!) all men and women to have their Vitamin D checked regularly.

A Vit D deficiency has been linked to a few nasty auto-immune conditions including Type 1 Diabetes and MS and of course rickets in unborn babies. Symptoms of deficiency usually go unnoticed, but you may find yourself fuzzy headed, a bit depressed or unable to concentrate.

I would rather take my Vit D daily for the rest of my life (which the doc says I probably will have to), rather than risk skin cancer (in Australia...yuck).

Medico's think that this might actually be a new epidemic, it seems so widespread.

---End of Public Health Announcement---Mrs Doylenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6905236167079601771.post-22614747542050186662011-08-12T19:50:58.046+01:002011-08-12T19:50:58.046+01:00Wrinklie wrinklie wrinklie!Wrinklie wrinklie wrinklie!Seraphichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06251504033428511090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6905236167079601771.post-72094879259991835292011-08-12T18:01:10.983+01:002011-08-12T18:01:10.983+01:00We'll have to agree to disagree! My theory is that as a Canadian there is only a nice warm sun three months of the year anyway, so I should enjoy it. Maximum SPF 15 and I'm on my way!

I believe people of good will can differ on this. ;-)Andreahttp://www.prowomanprolife.orgnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6905236167079601771.post-32822930920909523192011-08-12T16:05:04.949+01:002011-08-12T16:05:04.949+01:00About thighs, chafing, and heat rash:

But I hang out on lots of vintage sewing blogs and New Vintage lady solves this problem by sewing her own undergarments out of cool breathable cotton. She calls them breeches or drawers.
