I have a traditional 1 beer and bag of microwaveable popcorn when I get the house to myself for a weekend (about 3-5 times a year). I feel very comfortable doing this, especially as I'm a lightweight and usually give up halfway through the beer as the taste gets blah after awhile.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6905236167079601771.post-13485680613144787772010-12-26T00:58:27.960+00:002010-12-26T00:58:27.960+00:00<3 that quote from GWTW!

It's physically as well as psychologically damaging. (Yes, moderate drinking can be good for you, but for a woman, that means about 5 oz of red wine a night. As an athlete, I know how high alcohol consumption affects the body, and it's not good for you.) It is a form of gluttony: consuming not just for enjoyment, health, and comraderie, but to the point at which it is excessive and damaging. It's the "adult beverage" form of obesity.theobromophilenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6905236167079601771.post-13009771791016484432010-12-23T02:56:24.863+00:002010-12-23T02:56:24.863+00:00"Haha! All the anecdotes about bad behaviour under the influence are probably stretched for humorous effect, because he's so charming, funny, and gentlemanly. It's just his overactive conscience, strained by trying to live up to his high ideals, that's making him tell me all this. He just needs a little love and care, to settle his nerves, and then we'll be fine together.

As Seraphic observes, blah, blah, blah.briefly-anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6905236167079601771.post-29208343238237271032010-12-22T12:20:51.795+00:002010-12-22T12:20:51.795+00:00Thanks for that...
