Open post today, for I have been writing hard all day. Tell me some good news from your life!
Did your boss praise you this week? Did you sell an article? Did you get a chapter of your thesis finished? Did you go on your 15th date with someone surprisingly perfect for you? Any new nephews or nieces? Did your spouse do something fabulously kind? Did you reserve your place on the Bellahouston papal mass bus? (I just did.) Let me know!

Well, I'm a great deal happier with both Universal Coefficient Theorems. Now I want to see how they do with local coefficients...
I'm going on my first internet date tonight, with a younger, retreat-going, Chesterton-loving, Catholic man!
Also, before that happens, I predict my good news will be that I will finish my last summer course paper. So help me God.
I finished my month-long surgery assignment today, and am going ballroom dancing with friends tonight!! :)
I started swing dancing again : )

I got two grants AND just found out that the grad school is still paying our health insurance.
I finally conquered all the unread mail in my Outlook in-tray! And a coworker and I had (yet another) fabulous discussion about theology: she was raised Wells Lutheran and I Presbyterian (with some Evangelical leanings) and now we're both happy Catholics. It makes for some entertaining discussion :-)
I had a fantastic first week back to music school (Thank you, St. Cecilia!), and just finished one of the best auditions I think I've ever had! (For the university's fall theatre production, too! Thank you, St. Genesius!)
I fixed my registration on the last possible day to do so, yay!
I had a trio of good things:
1. The boss gave me very high praise - directly. Usually I get her praise via other people. Either is lovely, but the rare direct compliment is awesome.
2. Scored cheap tickets to a Broadway show tonight.
3. Got my cholesterol test back after a month of working hard to change my diet and exercise more. Total number dropped 105 points. Yay!
My very first paid holiday is coming up this Monday, and the entire weekend is supposed to be absolutely beautiful weather-wise. Going to a friend's wedding shower that I know will be lots of fun and not awkward. It's looking like a lovely weekend indeed :D
Seraphic, can we make this a regular feature? Father Z does the "good news" thing all the time, and it's super :-)
1. I met with not one, but two partners in law firms who are affiliated with one of the conservative groups that I volunteer with - and both said they are going to lobby on my behalf with their friends and their firms to get me hired. (Yay!)
2. Dates #10 and #11 (me cooking dinner, and lunch today) with the Nice Catholic Man.
3. A few weeks ago, I was a panelist on a local TV station, discussing constitutional law.
4. Hurricane Earl is veering out to the east.
My foster cat made it to his forever home in New York!
I had a great gig singing at Aquila in Toronto tonight - the band and the crowd enjoyed it, and their food was great!
Also am planning a trip to New Orleans again...sooo excited!
This is all great stuff. Maggie, I think you were right! (And I did borrow the idea from Father Z!)
Nearly five months dating a lovely Catholic man.
My students are all doing well and are happy.
One of my students - a senior football star - spent 45 minutes in the confessional, and came out absolutely beaming! Go God!
I just passed my PhD candidacy exams, in spite of a (very) tense relationship with my advisor and a (very) nasty political situation in the department.
I'm beginning to feel hopeful again after a dreadful breakup a few months ago which had left me reeling.
I'm moving to a lovely new flat this week.
My kitty (who is doing his very best to convert me from Not-A-Cat-Person to A Cat Person) is curled up on the corner of my desk purring on the stack of papers I'm supposed to be sorting.
All these things make me feel like like I'm returning to the land of the living.
I got a lot of my stuff safely from my parents' house without any arguing, fighting or craziness. On my own. :D Victory! (And more clothes!)
