Breaking News: I've been invited to speak at the University of Notre Dame as part of the Edith Stein Project which takes place between February 11-12, 2011.
Thank you very much, Rebecca and other Notre Dame readers for your invitation to this event, cocktails, etc! This is so awesomely awesome that I called my Notre Dame grad dad (Class of '62) long-distance on a weeknight and off the plan to boast.
South Bend, South Bend--yay!
South Bend in February, South Bend in February--oooo... Wait a minute.
Oh well, it's not like Toronto is a sunny paradise in February either. And I'm longing to meet some American readers. You guys make up something like 60% of my online readership, and I do see a Notre Dame presence on my StatCounter!*
Ask and you shall receive was definitely working for me yesterday. Who wants to invite me to write for Our Sunday Visitor?
*Catholic U in Washington, D.C., Steubie, Scranton, Boston College and others are there, too. Of Canadian schools, the University of Toronto logs in most often. Of the British schools, Oxford is number 1. Somebody at Oxford loves me.
P.S. My American gran'ma lived in Indiana for decades, so that is where I always spent childhood beach vacations. Yes, there are beaches in Indiana.

Now invite someone who can talk about Edith Stein! Mysterious J, having studied in Warsaw and the IAP in Lichtenstein, is just polishing off her doctorate on the philosophical anthropology of Edith Stein, has led vocational retreats for teachers and yoof, written and edited entries for several dictionaries and encyclopedias of religion, ... I can put you in touch!
It would be great if you could come to Christendom, too -- I think a lot of people there would really enjoy it! (Plus, I live not far from there and could come see you in the flesh -- a definite plus.) I wonder how that could be arranged? I might see who I can talk to about it. It's tougher now that I'm not a student.
I will see if I can get you a gig at Franciscan (FUS). Will LYK.
Oh Seraphic,
Please let us know when you'll be in South Bend. I live in Chicago and would love to come see you.
I'm a new blog follower and an aspiring Catholic blogger myself.
I can't wait! It would be a bright spot in a dreary Midwestern February.
Congratulations! The Edith Stein conference is phenom! I'm so inspired every time I go. I've been there twice, I hope to see you there this year! :)
Sheila, that would be very nice! MargoB, that would also be very nice. Lisa, follow the link and you will find all the information about the conference. Fifi, I hope I will see you there!
As a ND alum -- yay! Maybe I'll make the trek back out the the alma mater. :)
On a sad note, since we have Notre Dame on the brain, please pray for this student and his family:

His sister is also a ND student.
Well, that is really exciting! Congrats and it will be a real treat for everyone to hear you. Not sure if it's something I can swing, but time will tell.
Woo! Another ND alum here, who is very you'll be gracing campus with your presence in February! I'm not exactly close to Indiana right now, but the Edith Stein conference is great, and now there's extra incentive for me to try to go this year...I love an excuse to visit campus.
As a current Notre Dame student and new but devoted follower of your blog, I'd like to say WELCOME TO NOTRE DAME! We are so honored to have you at the Edith Stein conference. I cannot wait to hear you speak!
Thank you, Lillian! I am soooo excited to be coming to Notre Dame in February.
