Oh dear. It is alarming to be the mother of fictional character, especially when she is Catriona (pronounced Katreena, as you can tell people at Book Club). Catriona is much taller than me, and leaner, and has green eyes and a DPhil from Cambridge and is fluent in German and horribly sardonic and insists on speaking English as if she grew up in some Edinburgh slum. But here she is, and she's mine, and what can I do?
Me: Well, Catriona, it took forever and I thought I would die, but you're born.
Catriona: Thank you, mother.
Me: Did you, um, bring Denis with you?
Catriona (sardonic smile): Why ever do you ask?
Me: I think I'll put the kettle on.

I got a text from Amazon saying it shipped and is on its way! Looking forward to it!
Congratulations, Seraphic!
My copy arrived last week and I have already read it. Well done! It's not the sort of thing I usually read -- modern, contemporary fiction peopled with very modern characters. (I'm more of a 19th century reader.) But I loved your book!
One thing that I particularly liked was that the characters lived in a Catholic universe and that this was an essential element of the novel. And it is so nice to see a Catholic novel that is well written and is not about the end of the world.
I will definitely read it again.

Congratulations! (trots off to bookstore)
My copy also came in the mail last week, perfect timing since I had my first light study weekend since I started school. I spent half the weekend devouring the book and the other half pondering it. It's just how I like my books--- compelling and thought provoking. Brava!
Many congrats!!
It sounds intriguing!
I might contact your publisher about reviewing it for the Sooner Catholic! We are always look for good books, especially novels, to review!

Can't wait for it to arrive... my copy hasn't been shipped yet, from the bookdepository.com. Really looking forward to it.
The perks of ordering from the publisher: my copy arrived last week, just in time for my train journey to Boston. I read the whole thing on the train last Thursday, and very much enjoyed it.
I lent it to my mother, and she's about a quarter of the way through- she says that you write very well, especially about Canadians (being one herself.)
Girls, these are officially the three first reviews not by the blurb-writers! I mean, Catholic Bibliophile has published THE FIRST REVIEW!
I am overwhelmed with your awesomeness; I had no idea any "customer" had it yet.
*Bibliophagist, I mean. I have just come home from Polish class, so I'm a little frazzled.
I just got mine as well and I can't wait to read it! I'm especially excited after reading all these combox reviews.
Congratulations! My copy's due to arrive on the 25th, and I'm excited to read it!
Do you have a super-fun launch party or something to look forward to?
B.A. wants to take me to lunch. I am thinking I should have a word with a chap I've met who runs a bookshop in Glasgow. Not sure I could pull a crowd in Glasgow...
Krakow, yes. Toronto, yes. Glasgow, nae.
Congratulations! Do you know if/when the Kindle version is going to be published?

My copy came a couple of days ago, and I read the first several chapters yesterday--and mercy, is it hard to put down! I'm not even allowed to pick it up today as I have to prepare for an evening of company. ;) But I'm very much looking forward to finishing it!
I saw it prominently displayed at the St. Pat's bookstore in Ottawa and snapped up a copy. Looking forward to reading it over Thanksgiving weekend!
Thank you! Thank you! I think there is an electronic version already for sale. Look on the Ignatius Press website.
