Saturday Night Open Forum

Well, poppets, all I can think of to write tonight about is that I didn't have to worry about getting the Christmas cake started in time when I was Single because my mother did all the Christmas baking.

I must confess that the last year I was Single, I just stayed in my room writing and convalescing from illness, and my mum did everything. Clean laundry appeared like magic. I was totally spoiled. Boo hoo hoo. And now I have to do everything--except make most dinners because B.A. likes to cook. Wah, sniff.

Okay, so tell Auntie what you are doing on this last Saturday night of the liturgical year, and what you would like for Christmas.

As I'll be christmasing with my family in Homeown Suburb, I also haven't any christmas-cake plotting to handle, which makes things much easier (I imagine...)

Speaking of which, I'm visiting Hometown now, which is very nice. Mum and Dad picked me up from the bus at 12:30 this morning, and were most appreciative of the brownies I brought with.

What would I like for Christmas? Hmm... tricky. I should like to know... But if you want to know what I want to know... well, I think I prefer to leave that mysterious.

I spent the day throwing a baby shower for a friend. It wasn't supposed to take all day, but it did, and I'm spending Saturday night tackling the domestic disorder that is filling my flat (washing dishes! laundry! ironing! more dishes! leftovers! yet more dishes! argh!).

What I want for Christmas can't be bought. And no, it's not a dishwasher.

I am going to bed early because I spent the afternoon watching football with friends and now I am beat!

What I would like for Christmas is to be grateful and to get one fun gift. I can be a really shamefully petulant person at Christmas. And I tend to get practical things -- things which I asked for and which I appreciate and enjoy through the year, but so much practicality can cause problems with issue number one above.

I'm grading exams...

And for Christmas I would like to have snow (instead of rain)! And jewelry. :)

Bit late, but Saturday night was spent with friends for a birthday party. Great fun, although had to leave early due to choir commitments this morning. All I want for Christmas is a new CD player (and possibly a iPod touch). My current ones are dying slowly.

Last night (Saturday) I did some volunteer work teaching some rambunctious first graders their catechism. This Christmas I am going to fly to the-state-I-was-born-in and my true love is going to fly out on leave from his deployment from somewhere-in-the-middle-east and be reunited with me. Prayers for us would be greatly appreciated. What do I want for Christmas? Something small, silver, circular with a diamond on it. I want him and us for Christmas. Thank you Seraphic!

I started my weekend with a chick-flick with 2 girlfriends. Very nice, great conversation, light dinner and some laughs and tears (for the movie).

For Christmas, since I'm sure Santa can't fit a husband down the chimney I would love a kindle, maybe a new mp3

I sewed with friends on Saturday night. Yay!

I'm asking for a particular cosmetic bag for Christmas to make traveling easier/more convenient. Hopefully I'll get to use it a great deal in 2011! :)

I spent last night helping my mother shop for some clothes, back to a late dinner, and we were planning on watching "Letters to Juliet," but went to bed early (10:05 SCORE!!!) after a hot shower because I was exhausted. What I would like for Christmas is a job for my single self and a home closer to my Dad's job so he wouldn't have to sleep in a church basement Mon.-Thurs. nights.

There is a huge craft's fair the weekend of Thanksgiving (ie, this coming weekend for non-Americans). I am going along with three of my best friends from college, and then out to dinner! Happy New Liturgical Year, indeed!

I went to bed @ 8pm because I had to be up @ 5am. Now on to my Christmas present... to not be single.

Saturday: (short) dinner date - he had been up since well before dawn and was on call the next day, so it was a very quick meal.

Christmas: my older sibling and I are converging on our hometown. She's bringing her long-term b.f.. My youngest sibling still sort of believes in Santa, so this will be the last year of putting out milk, cookies, and carrots.

Since Santa can't bring me sanity, my dream job, or any of those essentials, I'll just ask for gloves and chocolate.
